Hi Horace! Hope you had a Merry Holiday! As for my van, I finally came full circle and am going with a stock engine to go back in the vehicle. I'll save my modifications for a later date. The reason for this is that I found a local man who is a VW wizard. He happended to have two wasserboxers on hand and at the time was building one to go into his own van. After talking to him , he quoted me $1500 for the engine he was already working on for his van plus I could keep my old engine. So I struck the deal. I get a completely rebuilt engine...all new bearings, cylinders, pistons rings, guides, valves, etc, including new water pump and oil pump, et, etc, and I have my old engine to hot-rod if I want to play....which I do. The other places...AVP, Boston Engine, etc, wanted closer to $1900 AND my old engine, plus I was going to have to pay freight both ways on the core/new engine. I think this to be a better deal. Time will tell. Expect to have the engine installed and running by Jan 15. Will keep the list informed on progress and performance. Happy New Year!!! John Rodgers "Horace K.
