Jim, I've used outhouses, RV park dump stations, gas station washrooms,
etc. --anywhere you would normally dump "personally".  A porta-potty in our van
is our most valuable accessory -you no longer have to put up with filthy
washrooms in camp grounds or service station...and when your four-year old has
to "go" while you're driving in bumper to bumper freeway traffic...it's a
life-saver! Go for it! Sorry for the pun ;>)
