Not a good choice for someone without a LOT of experience and background in cars generally and Vanagons particularly. The Bentley manual seems to be a compilation and summary of the "real" VW shop manual and assumes you're a qualified VW mechanic only needing some Vanagon-specific information. I think there's a Haynes manual out for the water-cooled Vanagons which is more of a DIY'ers manual. I think Bus Depot (www.busdepot.com) might carry it. Save the Bentley for when you're more experienced.
