Hi I'm new to the list and enjoying my recently purchased 87 west (46k!) -
I've benn enjoying this list for a couple of weeks, its good to know there
are so many Vanagon fans around...

on the way back from a weekend at the lake I decided it was much too hot to
drive with shoes on and took them off, but I had to put them back on
because  extremely hot air was blowing on my accel foot.. all the
ventilation stuff was turned to cool (far as I can tell anyway given the
obscure interface of the vent controls) - anyone got any idea where this
hot air might be coming from?

Also it it normal for the temperature guage to move from about 1/2 way to
3/4 on any long hill?
