     I have an 82 Aircooled 2.0 overhauled, balanced, all
emissions(deceleration valve, EGR valve, cat.) removed, installed a
glasspacked stainless muffler, K&N cone filter. The timing is set at
factory specs but I am wondering if I could advance it a few degrees to
improve low end torque, given the fact that I have opened up the engine a
bit. BTW leaded gas is still available here.
