Hi,

It's fairly apparent to me what's going on.  The list ran quietly for a
while with Chris and I at the head.  Our rules were well-known, and folks
stuck to them.  List vendors were encouraged.  Those who give a discount to
list members were even rewarded with a position on the vanagon.com
'preferred vendors' list.

Now that we have a new administrator, folks are jockeying to change the
rules.  Civility is losing out, and petty bickering is taking its place.

Think about how rough this must be on Dave.  He's new to the job, a little
hesitant to put his foot down, and you're all taking advantage of this.  If
I were in his position, I'd feel lousy.

I'd like to ask folks to refrain from discussing list-administration issues.
They're Dave's to decide.  If you want to complain about someone, do so to
'vanagon-request@gerry.vanagon.com'.  If you want to change something about
the list, send email to that address.  Sending it to the list in general is
simply not appropriate.
