Sorry Karl ~ Didn't intend to imply that You don't know what you are doing when it comes to

Diesels & Vanagons ~ I am well aware that You are 1 of the Gurus ~

& while I have never experienced driving a Diesel Vanagon I am well aware of the virtues of a

Diesel vs Gasoline ~ I would probably have a TurboDiesel in My VDubaru if I wasn't so fond of the

Boxer Style Eng' config' ~ Do have to say though that I have never found the EJ25 to be lacking on

Torque even with the almost 29in OD Tires that I have on the Rear ~

        & Just for the record > I've been working on Vanagons & Busses & Beetles & other cars - since 1954 ~

I'd recommend not resorting to name calling, especially since you've never met me or have no clue how I drive. Have you driven a half million miles in Vanagons? Do you have a clue about the powerband of a TDI? Obviously not.
