Not enough!! 75K miles. I gave FAS the trans that came with the vehicle with no real issues and about 125K on it, to check out, rebuild, and put in a smaller 4th gear. They had problems doing it and instead purchased a rebuild from ??. I think I did not get a real good rebuild. Case is worn. I had to have a bushing made for the shifter input shaft. Don't know if one was put in by the rebuilder or not. We never found one. Just a hole too big for the shaft. Now, I just have to deal with it.Dave B. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Felder <jim.felder@gmail.com> To: ddbjorkman@verizon.net <ddbjorkman@VERIZON.NET> Cc: vanagon <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sat, Sep 29, 2018 10:28 am Subject: Re: Trans noise How many miles on that transmission? Turns out it is a transaxle noise, as all else has been eliminated. Local (good) mechanic said we have to wait until it gets loud enough to diagnose. It is getting a little louder. Anyone want to offer an opinion on just what/where it is. > Dave B.
