I am hoping for the wisdom of the list is locating an easy-out or similar tool for SS 10-32 bolts. If any of you have worked with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) equipment (particularly that made by Waters Associates), you are probably familiar with so-called ferrule nuts. These are hex-head 10-32 SS bolts with a hole down the center to clear 1/16-inch OD SS tubing. Basically the 1/16-inch tubing is connected to pumps, columns, etc., with the ferrule nut followed by a ferrule. You screw the ferrule nut -- ferule combination into a specially machine fitting and tighten it down to make a tight seal. This passed summer, I bought a collection of 1980s-vintage HPLC equipment to teach my Son lab instrument repair and computer interfacing. In the process of letting him learn by doing, he snapped the heads off a couple of the ferrule nuts leaving the end and the ferrule stuck in the equipment. Parts involved are NLA so there is need for a way of extracting the remaining part of the ferrule nut and ferrule. I can get the parts to a Dremel drill press to drill the tubing out of the broken nut, but then need something to extract the remainder of the ferrule nut. Are there miniature easy-outs or similar tools? Thank you, John
