Hi all. link to my thesamba post: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=620434 When I bought this '88 Westy, it had a really bad idle. In an effort to smooth out the idle, I (ignorantly I think) moved the track board so the wiper arm would contact new material. I also adjusted the arm. This was less than 10K miles ago. In hindsight, these things were likely not needed. The AFM wiper is fairly delicate. I would suggest that unless someone has relevant skills, bending the arm MIGHT lead to premature track wear. My first reaction to the new track wear I saw was that it was excessive given that I haven't put *that* many miles on it.
