OK, I’ve had this issue probably 2 years now.  After filling up the gas tank I am rewarded with a gas soaked filler tube after each right turn.  I have replace everything from the filler tube to the gas cap twice with new and used parts.  I am getting ready to take it all apart again and apply a thin bead of silicon around all the parts around the top of the tube to the cap unless someone has anymore suggestions.  Yes, I know the later years had that floaty-ball ball in there to stop this “defect” but I have the 83.5 with the foot wide filler tube that allows half the tank to slosh up it at every turn.
