No, I have not used my van with this tank in any conditions you describe. We usually stay on the road. Rita's not one for that much adventure ! I took pictures of mine installed today and will get them posted soon to a site where you all can see them.

I am less concerned about topes and other obstacles on paved roads than I am about boulders, roots, and holes on Forest Service, BLM, and private roads where I go into spots well beyond developed camp grounds. So, If I am navigating such roads, I would not want to have to roll over a stone, into a hole, and bam, the tank hits the stone. Looks like maybe two inches difference in clearance. What do you think? Have you used the vehicle with the tank in such circumstances?

We have just spent some five months on the road with ours, Almonte to Key West to La Manzallia, MX to Santa Cruz, CA then on to home in a few more weeks. So far no problems hitting anything with it. I thought the topes in Mexico would surly get ti but no, not a problem. It's close enough to the front wheel that it follows along quite nicely. They will become a necessity soon as most all campgrounds will require you to have a holding tank or they will not allow you in. This IS the case in Germany now for sure as we discovered last March when we were there.
