I believe if the A/C system is opened up it is customary to replace not the evaporator but the receiver/dryer. I bought one of these from one of our vendors in preparation for working on my van, and onmy '87 Westy the R/D is located in the LR wheelwell, attached outboard of the frame rail just ahead of the tire. You can see it pretty easily but I don't know how easy it is to remove and replace. Stephen --- On Tue, 3/1/11, A PETER MARSH <apetermarsh@MAC.COM> wrote: From: A PETER MARSH <apetermarsh@MAC.COM> Subject: New evaporator? After having the AC compressor off the replacement engine for four months, I am presuming I have to replace the evaporator as it will now be full of good old Florida humidity.. Can I buy these anywhere or is it a hunting quest? And - where is the little beastie?
