A women going by the pseudonym "Brigitte" called Car Talk today to ask for
advice on buying a Syncro Westfalia. She said she is an airline pilot
transferred to the San Francisco area
and it was impossible for her to pay $750,000 for a home with the paycuts at
the airlines.

"What's the difference between a Pizza and an Airline Pilot," she asked.
When Click and Clack couldn't guess she told them "A Pizza can feed a family
of four."

Anyway she wanted a Syncro camper so she could tour around when not sleeping
in the airport employee parking lot. She said she wanted to get in the
"club"
with the folks that own Syncros and attend events like Syncro de Mayo.

Click and Clack advised her against the the 4 wheel drive since she really
had no need for it except she thought the idea of it was cool.

Honestly I don't remember what the final outcome was-- if she was still set
on a Westfalia by the conversation's end.
I'm sure you'd all let her attend your events with a 2 wheel drive and watch
from a distance.
