I checked my radio, Pioneer DEH-P5000UB (has remote), here are the numbers: power off, faceplate on, factory "crawling display" on - 144 mA power off, faceplate on, factory "crawling display" off - 83 mA (this is mode I use) power off, faceplate off - 9 mA power on, faceplate on, tuner selected, volume medium low (cd same result but for initial high draw at start) - 600 mA (aux. amp draw not measured) alistair On 13-Dec-10, at 8:04 AM, Edward Maglott wrote: Mine does have a remote and draws about .4 amps when I don't have the master switch off. The remote is a "must have" feature as far as I'm concerned for the camper application. I have mine wired to aux battery so I don't worry about it for an overnight period. But I do make sure I turn off the master switch most of the time and especially if I leave the van for days. Mine is a cheap one I got at Target for about $89 iirc. Has many features, but pretty cheaply made. One of the often used button on the faceplate has started to work erratically. It is model: VRCD400-SDU from this company: http://www.vr-3.com . Edward
