I found out from my doctor earlier this week that I am going to need to have surgery on my back to repair some damaged discs, probably near the end of January.  

My problem, and where I need the advice and help is, I'm not going to be able to get in and out of my van once I have the surgery. Thankfully it's an automatic so when I am cleared to drive, it won't be a big issue. In between the surgery and then, though, I'll need to devise a way to get in and out of it. 

Or .... My other option is to buy a 2nd vehicle, which actually, I'd like to do anyway. I have the means to make payments on something (the van is owned free and clear) but I don't have money for a down payment so I'm not sure I can even do it. 

Anyway, any suggestions appreciated.
