Hi all. ~ 2 years ago, I installed a new tank, sender, seals etc. Pretty sure gauge was hinky before parts installed, but for sure, after install, it read 1/2 - 2/3 when tank full. On my last trip, I ran over a tumble weed. (judgement call) This caused a minor "thump" on the underside. Now my fuel gauge consistently reads properly. Can a sender get stuck, then UNstuck with a thump like that? Nothing else changed that I know of. Originally, I assumed I had installed the sender in the wrong position. Curious because if one has similar symptoms/situation to mine, maybe judicious raps on tank with mallet/wood block could knock sender loose. (?) Pretty sure wiring was NOT jostled into proper operation by tumbleweed thump, but can't say for sure.
