So I had the desire to have Power door locks with a remote (key-less entry). I found a website selling a kit that comes with 2 key fobs (remotes) the receiver and then 2 door lock actuators. They have several upgrades to choose from. One that sounded nice was remote start. I have an automatic transmission (it is not recommended to install remote start on a manual transmission). I finally got it all installed. Keep in mind my van is a 1984 so it did not come with power locks. The 2 actuators (the part that locks and unlocks the door) are very nice high quality and let me tell you a perfect fit for the vanagon. I installed the receiver and now with the push of a button I can start my van from a distance of up to 200 feet. I love having the key less entry. It is also hooked up to the running lights and horn, so you get 2 flashes from the lights showing you have locked the van and 1 flash when you�unlock the�van. I also hooked it up so that the rear heater
 comes on with the remote start. No more cold mornings.�It was an easy install. I will post a link to the website that I purchased the kit from. The technical department was very help full and answered all my questions�The total with shipping was $125.00 and took 2 hours to install.
