Subject:Disabling Oil Warning Buzzer - need advice
From:Jeff Lincoln
Date:Thu, 8 Jan 2009 17:23:32 -0500

Hello Volks!

I had been sent instructions on this for my friend before - but the
instructions and what he is looking at on the bus are not making sense.

He has a 1985 GL (non-Westy). The original gauge cluster had the Tach and
the digital clock. He has acquired another gauge cluster that was supposed
to be an '85 as well (with Tach and digital clock) but apparently it is not
- because it is equipped with the Oil Buzzer.

So the question is - how on earth do we disable that buzzer?

The instructions he has say to bend the ground pin on the connector out of
the way to disable it - however the pin the instructions say is ground does
not jive with what Bentley says.

I am sorry I cannot be exactly specific but I am not where he is right now
and I also do not have the instructions provided in front of me. I told him
before he needs to join this list!!!!!!!!

Any advice I can pass along is greatly appreciated.
