I could just call ya tomorrow I suppose, but thought I'd give you a try this
way.

Do you, in your shop, do all 3 of these  ?  :

- R & R the trans from the vanagon
-rebuild the trans on the work bench,
- and adjust and/or repair shift linkage on the vanagon as needed.
