As I posted earlier, my leak was from an oil gallery soft plug that cracked.
Look for a plug about 1/2" in diameter just left of the case seam behind the
pulley before you pull the pump. JB Weld will patch it until you rebuild
the engine and replace it. Then the rebuilder will curse you for the JB
Weld! It's unlikely that your oil pump is leaking.

Subject: Oil Pump removal-Difficult????

91Gl AT with same slow leak. Checked valve covers and they are dry. Checked
cooler seal and good. I am getting oil in the mount right under and to the
left of the oil pump, right side is dry. Seems it then dribbles down the
cooler or the pump housing and across the ?(black tubular cross mount right
behind the oil pump housing) leaving a straight line drip of oil left to
right on the ground at the rear of the engine. --All left/right, front/back
if you are standing at back of van and looking down.
Per the ETKA, might be the housing gasket or the oil pump gasket ???? How
hard to check? Thanks all.
