Hi all Had some good hot/noisy/smelly "open engine compartment" test drives on my Jetta conversion recently, so am now cutting and tubbing the engine lid. Searched the archives, but didn't find what I'm looking for. I'll use the stock engine lid insulation, but need more to cover the added ~ 4" x 22" pieces. Anyone know of a suitable/safe material available at a hardware/building supply store or my FLAPS? For odd duck things like this, it's a miss/hit affair finding someone in these places that knows what they're talking about, so appreciate any help. I imagine the material should withstand a certain degree (pun intended!) of heat hence my question of a "safe" material. Am I relegated to the boneyard? --- :^) Please and thanks, Neil. -- Neil Nicholson '81 JettaWesty "Jaco http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines http://web.mac.com/tubaneil http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/
