Are/were there any steel 15" wheels that would fit a regular 2wd ('84)
vanagon?  Want steel because I bend wheels, it seems.  Have done so 4 times
anyhow, and I don't fancy trying to get 'in' from a remote Baja site with a
fractured alloy wheel, so..

.I actually  bashed  a bent rim back into shape enough to air up using a
beach boulder once.  And yes, you can seat a bead on a tubeless truck rim
using exploding gasoline inside the tire..I did it myself once, after seeing
the guys in the "Llanteras" (Tire shop) do it in Baja.  You can do a lot of
unusual things on your own, when you have no other choice..
