There that should do it!

I'm thinking of R&R'ing the white rubber trim above the door but am afraid
to remove it, lest it won't easily be reinstalled.  After removing the most
problematic section (fwd 6 inches) it seems disagreeable.  Anyone ever done
this?  Also, I can't seem to clean it well, anyone done so successfully?

Does it take spray paint well?  If so, which type have you used, why, and to
what effect?
