I'm in the process of trying to rehabilitate the empty and leaky a/c on
my '86 westy weekender.
The compressor is a Sanden SD-508, and my tentative plan is to clean it
out, test it, and reuse it if it seems OK.
But, if someone convinces me that the SD-709 is a MUCH better
compressor, then I might be inclined to spring for a remanufactured one
of those instead of working on a 508 of unknown history and condition.
Anyone have any strong opinions here?
