Greetiings friends:

  I broke the outer slider door handle off the other day, so  I need  a
replacement. This is the handle that fits into the latch mechanism from the
outside.  I have an 85 in the driveway as a parts car and am wanting to
replace the mechanism on an 84.  The latch inside the doors look pretty
different. Is it better to replace the whole mechanism (ie the latch on the
inside of the 85 door into the 84 door) or should I find an 84 mechanism in
a boneyard? Or do I need to look at the entire problem from a different
angle.
