The fridge will still be cold even if the fan dies. Without the fan it will be less efficient. I think when the fan is really important is when the ambient is high. - Vince http://gipsyflies.home.comcast.net 1989 Vanagon GL Camper 1993 Mazda Miata (for sale) 1996 Land Rover Discovery 2005 Mini Cooper S -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Rod Smith Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 5:56 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Westy fridge fan, How Important Is It? While on the subject of fridge fans, I disconnected my fan last summer due to excessive noise. Recently purchased a 120mm computer fan to use as a replacement but haven't got around to installing it yet. Anyway, i have used my fridge quite a bit this summer with the fan disconnected and haven't noticed any change in the performance of my fridge. So.... Just how important is the fan anyway? Thanks!
