Here is the deal..91 air cooled vanagon.  When i go to start, no alternator
light.  When i drive, it and the egr light flicker on and off.

I tested it out of the alternator, key on, and there is nothing coming out
of the little blue wire from the alternator..................BUT there is a
slight little bit of voltage coming TO the alternator on the blue
wire...........this is really weird.

Any ideas? Please pmail, for i do not seem to be getting list messages
lately.
