I just had my transmission rebuilt and finally got it back in my 1982 Westy tonight. Filled it up with fluid and the damn thing is leaking already. About an inch behind and below the Reverse light switch there is what appears to be a peg or pin going into the transmision case. There is fluid leaking out past this peg. Anyone know how to fix this? I just wanted to get an idea as to how common a leak like this is, what might be the cause of it and how to fix it. I will be calling the rebuilder but first I wanted to see what others knew about it.
I dont have to say that I sure am less than pleased with my rebuilt tranny so far and I haven't driven it one foot yet.
David
