Thanks John,
I found this 303 protectant at a local (Northern Michigan) West Marine.
It's too soon to report any results but I am very impressed the way it
covered
the window gaskets and door seals. It has an SPF factor of 45. Had it on for
4
days now and all the Vanagon's 12 year old rubber looks new.

Yes, I've heard repeatedly that the Armorals of the world are a deathe
sentence, at least on vinyl. The solvents pull the oils OUT of the material
instead of putting oils in, IIRC.

What I've been using is a product called "303 protectant" which was created
to meet Boeing's specs for rubber/plastic maintenance. Got it at the local
outfitters, but it's available elsewhere for less. Not cheap but works very,
very well. I've used it on the hypalon (read: rubber) hull of a folding
kayak and the rubber and dash on the van. Keep in mind that rubber seems to
get really, really dirty and you'll need to get all that smutz off before
protecting it.
