If you have a FRY's Electronics store, they have a good selection of
meters from the top of the line
to economy versions, both analog and digital.  if not, you probably have
a Radio Shack, which also has
quite a good range to check out.  You can do quite well with a $20
meter, or a professional grade like a Fluke
for $90 or so.
