for those of you who put bigger speakers in your front doorpanels in place of
the stock ones, and who are tired of the window crank knob jamming on your
kickass speaker cover or bustin your knuckles every time you roll down your
window.......

i have found that VW makes a window crank knob extension..   it was used on
the '91-'93 Cabriolets..  for the rear side windows.  they upgraded the sound
system in the cabriolets in '91, and the speaker covers stuck out more, and
so they use a small metal spacer, with a thicker plastic washer , and longer
screw - which spaces the knob out more..between a 1/4 and 3/8" more.
