I started with the Bus Depot hitch, then fabricated a 2 inch short receiver box adapter that bolts onto the BusDepot hitch plate. I then bought one of the commercial bike carriers. Looks like what you show on this page with the steadying tie-down bar, except the commercial unit has one in the front and one for the rear wheel also. It also has a nice steadying brace that fits just under the bike rock guard. Also comes with a stowable ramp. Steel. Has a rated capacity of 350 pounds. I haul my '80 Honda XL500S single there for all camping trips. If we don't take the Honda, the same company made a 3 bike rack for the mountain bikes. Use that as the occasion warrants. With the Honda on the tail, we have logged several 2K+ trips at speeds to 80 mph with no problem. Added 5 psi to the rear tires though. Otherwise, handling was squirmy!
