Subject:Re: I hate eBay... no one wants to keep their word [Was: Fake eBay Bids] Little Vanagon Content

Chris, I don't know about Canada, but down here in Ohio, an auction bid
is a binding contract, and auction fraud is a felony. Nice thing to remind
someone who backs out on a auction deal.

eBay can be very frustrating. I'm lucky to deal in an area (camera
gear) where I've had no problems at all, even doing a lot of overseas sales.
I've seen a lot of abuse in other areas though. I even watched a certain
Vanagon list member from Florida illegally retract a bid after he found out
on the list that the amount he was bidding on a fuel injection manual was
more than he could get it for from other sources. The sad part was seeing
the lie he posted as his excuse for retracting his bid.
