Subject:How do I go about prepping a tranny for re-assembly?
From:Sudhir Desai

To all those who are technically inclined.

I have my porsche transaxle labeled and apart. The
case is pretty dirty/greasy outside/inside. What is
the best way to get all of this dirt/grease cleaned
up, and what should I coat the tranny case with before
I start to re-assemble the transaxle.

I have talked to dudes who say use oven cleaner to
clean the case, seals still in place, and then use
tranny-prep(which I still can't find in any
NAPA/Pep-Boys/Western Auto).

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
