By combining adjunctions and certain deformations, the
notion of level of grammaticalness is functionally
equivalent and parallel to any normative concept of the
linguistic/holistic continuum.  We can see, in retrospect,
the systematic use of complex symbols adds explicit
performance contours to an important distinction in language
use.  It should be noted that our fully integrated field
