FYI: The US Post Office won't take packages over 44 lbs., so we couldn't ship a transaxle that way even if we wanted to. As far as packages less than 44 lbs. are concerned: Any company (or individual) that is not adding in a surcharge to send international packages through the U.S. Post Office is probably losing money on the deal (time is money!). Of course, they might have some extra $$ built in to the price of their parts to make up for this... > From: "1980 VW Westfalia \"Pokey\"" <pokey@vanagon.org> > Reply-To: "1980 VW Westfalia \"Pokey\"" <pokey@vanagon.org> > Date: Sun, 7 Jan 2001 16:31:09 -0500 > To: "Chris Weddle" <info@2weddle.com>, "Lawrence Johnson" > <LARRY_AVERY.JOHNSON@sympatico.ca>, "vanagon" <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com>, > <Syncro@egroups.com>, "urabus" <subaruvanagon@egroups.com> > Subject: Re: [Syncro] Re: Why I hate UPS (was: Vendors and shipping) > > I regret to find out about your use-UPS-or-get-charged-$30-tax because I > know Weddle Engineering has an excellent reputation for transmission > rebuilds.
