I have them, in stock, for $18.95 (including listmember discount).  These
are the heavy-duty, metal cased air filters sold by Volkswagen for the
Vanagon Syncro for off-road use performance use.  However, they also fit all
2-wheel-drive Vanagons from '86 up. Much has been written about this on the
List in the past.  These are serious air filters, genuine VW, originally
about $70 each.  Well worth the small difference in price over the stock
one.
