I recently installed the faux rain gutter brackets (Thule) on my '89 Westy.
It works great-- and I'm very pleased with the outcome.  I am able to raise
the top with limited weight on the rack.  I had p-mailed some digital
pictures and may still have them hanging around the computer if you wish....

Subject: roof rack brackets on westy top

Hi,
Has anyone put brackets on their westy poptop to
attach Thule or Yakima type racks?  I have a bracket
on the plastic topper of my truck and would like to
put a similiar one on my westy to carry my kayak and
still be able to put up the top.
