Just this past week, I flexed my Visa card and ordered an upgrade to the ListServ software from L-Soft. This will bring us up to the most current version, 1.8d. Here are the main reasons I bought the upgrade - supposedly, all these problems will be fixed: -The listserv process runs amuk 4-5 times a week and consumes all the RAM in the system, which requires me to reboot the server. I have to keep a constant eye on the system to catch it before you guys notice. -The web-based archive searches barely work. When they do work, they are slower than a diesel Westy running on 3 cylinders. -The web auto-archiver puts the year 2000 posts at the bottom of the list. -The re-direct function is not very consistent, so I end up forwarding messages manually. -The listserv software can't always read the incoming e-mail address. I hope to install the software this weekend, either on Saturday or Sunday night. The upgrade cost me a little over $500.00 USD, so I'm hoping I can "pass the hat around" and get some help from you guys. We also have some cash in the "List Donations" fund, so that may be accessible as well.
