For those familiar with SA mudflaps that mount inside the wheel well as on
the 1999 Microbus and Caravelle:

There are two 1/2 inch long pins (about 1/8 of an inch in diameter) on each
mud flap that go into the edge of the fender on the outside of the bus. Do
these pins go directly into a hole drilled in the metal or is there some kind
of a plastic or rubber reciever inserted in the fender to recieve the pin?

And for anyone out there when I drill a hole in the fender for the pin what
do i seal it with to keep rust from forming inside the hole and then
spreading?
