Guten Tag!

I am currently living in Germany, but will be returning to the U.S. in March
2001.  Does anyone know what is required to convert a German specs Vanagon
to U.S. specs (I know it probably depends on the state)?  I actually just
sold my 83.5 Westie (German specs) to avoid the hassle, after hearing a few
horror stories.  Now I'm curious as to how expensive and how big of a deal
it really is.  I would appreciate any info or personal experiences.
