Ian I concur with David Marshall's estimates. I have an 88 vanagon syncro kombi (2 seater cargo van w/windows)with a 2.0L Inline 4. On a recent 350 mile hwy trip thru rolling hill terrain in typical Pacific Northwest weather(damp & 45 degree temp)with average speeds of 70 to 75 mph., fuel consumption using 92 or 94 octane was as follows: 19 mpg US 22.5 mpg Imp 12.7L per 100 Km Mileage would be better if I kept my speed between 60 and 65 mph.
