Subject:  clutch adjustment

Yesterday i tried removing the master cylinder mounting bolts on my 85 westy in order to get at an adjustment rod which i was told is on the top of it. Has anyone else tried this? I couldn't get a wrench on what i think is a nut over the pin. What will this adjustment do, and what size nut is that anyway?
