Folks,

It is with deep, deep regret that I write this letter.

Chris Smith and I agreed to take over management of the Vanagon mailing list
in May 1997. The list is now running on its own Windows NT Server, and is
fairly self sufficient. Both of our lives have grown more complicated over
time, and we've agreed that the time has come for us to move on and turn
over the reins.

We need to find a new manager for the list. Ideally, the new manager should
be comfortable administrating Windows NT 4.0. Fairness, patience, and
objectivity are requirements.

The list will also need a new home. Andromedia has a stricter policy than
LikeMinds on hosting private sites, and the machine will have to move by
Christmas. The list is pretty high-bandwidth, so ISDN-or-faster
connectivity is required. T1 or faster is preferred.

If you're interested in running the site, write to
'vanagon-request@vanagon.com' and both Chris and I will get the email.

You're a great group of people, and I have to say that it's been an honor to
serve you over the last year and a half.
