After years (decades, really) of lusting after a VW camper, I finally
bought a 1984 Westfalia.  In general it is in great shape, but it needs a
few minor items repaired/serviced/checked etc.  Although I live in an
urban area of 94,000 people, the nearest VW dealership is nearly 100
miles away!  (though I wouldn't typically go to a VW dealer for most
service)  I had to find a good local VW mechanic on my own - relying on
some heresay and opinions of a few friends who owned Vanagons.

Could LiMBO maintain some sort of VW service technician/mechanic rating
database for its members?  This could be based on a simple (1 page) form
that members (and anyone else who would like to participate) would fill
out regarding their experience with any VW mechanic.  (Maybe the form
could be on the website?  ...or maybe the form could be electronically
submitted to the website?)  I think that this would be of GREAT use to
Vanagon owners, especially new VW owners (like myself!).

I'd be happy to help develop a form, and, heck, I'd even be happy to
compile the data if completed forms were sent to me.  Seems like there
should be some way that we could put this together...
