Thanks for all the info about the Scirocco motor.  Lord willing I am going to
be pulling it tomorrow morning.  I was checking out my '85 Vanagon again and
reexamining how the motor mounts attach to the van.  I was pleasantly
surprised to find that the points where the mounts attached are the same on
the '85 as they were on the '82 diesel Vanagon from which I scavenged the
parts.  I guess since VW was still making diesel Vanagons in Europe they just
made the body to fit all engine configurations and then added the engine setup
as they were ordered.
Anyway I am psyched.  I plan to take pictures all along the way and try to
organize them and post them on my website.  I'll let the list know when I get
some pics.  I just hope I do as good a job as David Marshall did on his site.
It'll be good to be behind the wheel of "Blue" again.  I kinda missed the old
boy.  Of course driving a '91 Carat for the past couple months has been a
consolation. :)
