Subject:Just got my KEP adapter plate!

I just got my K.E.P. adapter plate and flyweel on Monday! I must say it is
a work of art! Everything look very well engineered and the fit looks
almost perfect!

There are a few things I am not happy with though:

1 - The instruction manual says that my transmission's input shaft is about
0.5" too long and one of two things must be done a) cut 0.5" off the input
shaft or drill the hole in the crank shaft of the Rabbit engine 0.5"
deeper. Hmmm funny how no one at KEP made mention to this when I called
them. I think I will drill the crank in the engine seeing how the Syncro
transmission is a little rarer than the rest!

2 - The adapter plate is not off-road friendly. On syncros the factory
uses a silicone based sealant between the engine and the bellhousing so
when you go wading thought the water the clutch won't get wet. The KEP kit
isn't that tight around the bottom of the Rabbit engine. So a lot of
silicone will be needed if you intend to make it waterproof.

Other than the above the kit looks great! Photos will be on line with in
about two weeks due to a camera malfunction (camera + 4' drop = no camera).
