Subject:Fresh Water Tank mounted under van?
From:Kenneth O'Connor

Hello Everyone,

I'm a long time observer, but a rare commenter. I hope you all are well and
safe right now.

I have an 87 tin top. I have a Westfalia kitchen cabinet (stove, sink,
fridge) that i intend to install. I do NOT intend to install the Westfalia
water tank and cabinet as my wife loves the full width of the bed. I want
to add a water tank that will not consume interior space. So, I'd like to
mount it between the the body rails under the van (like the Desert Fox Aux
Fuel tanks that Ben Syncro orders from time to time but something that
maybe costs less thatn that). There's about 4 inches of depth there before
any tank.

I've looked at rigid plastic tanks on West Marine and the smallest tank is
already 6" tall. I don't want it to protrude because it's a Syncro and I do
mostly dispersed camping and don't want to worry about clearance. One
option could be to use a collapsible bag (boats use these a lot) and bend
up a sheet metal box around it.

Esteemed members of the list, do you have any advice or experience or have
you seen anyone that has mounted a water tank here?

Thank You,

Ken
