Hi all. Trust me to come up with something like this! Likely this happened by my own hand. Shameful! ;^) I think that when re-routing fuel hoses, or fine tuning fuel hose position and length during my engine swap (air cooled to "upright" 15 Jetta engine), I must have bent that hose a little. I really can't see that I did this, as I wasn't manhandling the hoses, but I bet it did not come out of Germany like that! Do ya think this kink might've been causing fuel pump noise? < sarcasm > Sheesh. Images of black nylon fuel return hose. Should I replace this hose? I didn't bend it back to shape. I just let it take whatever shape it has now. If "yes" to replace, I guess my best bet is to run a one piece hose from engine to tank.
